Crystal Clean Auto Detailing celebrates employee awarded and recognized nationally for ‘hard work’ and ‘dedication’

Crystal Clean Auto Detailing employee, Chad Cornell awarded with 2011 Most Valuable Carwasher from Professional Carwashing & Detailing® Magazine, 1 of top 5 industry awards

(GRAND RAPIDS, MICH.) – Chad Cornell, a Crystal Clean Auto Detailing employee was recently named, “2011 Most Valuable Carwasher” (MVC) by Professional Carwashing & Detailing® Magazine. The 2011 MVC award is one of the most prestigious awards in the industry.

A co-worker of Cornell at Crystal Clean submitted the winning nomination form and explained, “When one looks up the word ‘teammate’ in the dictionary, next to it should be a picture of Chad Cornell”.

For the past 20 years, Professional Carwashing & Detailing has asked its readers to submit nominations for the award which recognizes the top on-site workers, service technicians, detailers or office managers from any car care industry segment. Cornell was chosen as the MVC for 2011 out of hundreds of nominations from around the country. He will also be awarded at the Western Carwash Association Convention & Tradeshow being held October 17-19, 2011, in San Diego.

“Along with numerous other attributes, this person seemed to demonstrate a keen sense of responsibility”, said Debra Gorgos, Editor for Professional Carwashing & Detailing Magazine, from the July 2011 issue.” But, what stood out in his nomination from, submitted by a co-worker was that he would often take on tasks that were not ‘under his realm of responsibility’ to ensure that everything is done properly.”

No one can appreciate this as much as Crystal Clean Auto Detailing owner, Ross Timyan who has had Cornell on his team since early 2008. It was also very gratifying for Timyan to see Kevin Gavigan, an employee at Crystal Clean nominate his co-worker for such an award.

“I am so incredibly proud of my team,” said Timyan. “I am so lucky to have a group who respects each other and works so hard. Chad deserves this honor through-and-through and I am thrilled to see him being recognized for it.”

According to Professional Carwashing & Detailing Magazine, upon hearing he was named Most Valuable Carwasher of the Year, Cornell said it was a huge honor, but then accepted the accolade with a lot of modesty.

“It is a lot of teamwork, no one person alone could make this flow everyday, it is and always will be a team effort here,” said Cornell. “Without each and every one of them I would not be in this position.”
