What is the benefit of getting your car detailed?

According to Auto Trader and NADA, choosing professional auto detailing services performed on your vehicle can increase its monetary value significantly. We realize it requires an extensive amount of time and energy to clean every nook and cranny of a vehicle, regularly scheduled maintenance is highly recommended as it further enhances its value. Read trade-in advice found on Auto Trader below:

“If you have a little bit of extra money, a comprehensive professional detailing can enhance your car’s exterior significantly and, at the end of the day, you might just end up making more money from the trade-in as a result.”

“Put yourself in the dealer’s shoes – an engine that looks clean gives the impression the car has received plenty of TLC under the hood during its lifetime.”

“Your car’s interior appearance is just as important as the way it looks on the outside.”

Here’s some trade-in advice from Auto Trader regarding a well detailed vehicle.

How long in advance do I need to schedule an appointment?

In most cases, all we need is 24 hours notice for an appointment. We do tend to get busier during the warmer Michigan months, so calling more than 24 hours in advance is always helpful. We do offer same day, hassle-free pick up and delivery in the Greater Grand Rapids Michigan area, as well as a before and afters key drop at our 3413 Eastern Ave SE detailing facility.

What do I need to do prior to my appointment?

We ask that you remove all personal items from the inside of the vehicle, including the glove box, center console, and trunk if we are completing an interior or complete detail. We are not responsible for any item left in the vehicle, so for insurance reasons, please remove any item that you deem valuable and would like not thrown away.

Also, be sure to note any key trouble spots, both mechanically and cosmetically, to relay to our staff. This will help us gauge areas that you would like us to focus, or areas that we need to be careful servicing.

What is the difference between an Exterior Detail and a Paint Restoration?

As a general rule, our exterior detail is primarily completed to add protection to the outside of the vehicle, whereas the paint restoration helps bring life back into your vehicle’s exterior. The paint restoration might be a good fit for you if you are looking to remove or reduce swirl marks or light-medium scratches.

What is the difference between a Polymer Paint Sealant and a Liquid Carnauba Wax?

While both are applied with an orbital polisher to protect the clear coat, the Polymer Paint Sealant extends the protection from 1-2 months, to that of up to 6 months. Our exterior technicians apply the Polymer Paint Sealant in replacement of the Liquid Carnauba. This is by far the best protection we have to offer for exterior protection and is highly recommended entering the Winter season.

Is there any tax that will be in addition to the sales price?

We do not charge any sales tax, as we only provide service.

I recently spilled Milk in my car! Do you have a service that will tackle the smell?

Unfortunately this is the toughest smell of any to neutralize. Due to the odor absorbing into all of the cloth and upholstery, it needs to be fully extracted and rigorously cleaned. The process we recommend is a Full Interior Detail supplemented by our DrivePur Odor Treatment. We can not promise 100% removal of the odor, but can assure a vast improvement.

My vehicle stinks like smoke! Do you have a service that can get rid of the smoke smell in my vehicle?

DrivePur Treatment is the most effective method we have found to date for neutralizing smoke odor. We also highly recommend a Full Interior Detail to thoroughly cleanse the Interior prior to the DrivePur to best eliminate the smell.
3 distinct benefits to DrivePur:
1. The removal of odors including severe odors such as tobacco
2. Sanitize the interior of the vehicle including the air-conditioning system
3. Provides a long term coating that prevents the return of odors, germs, bacteria and other bio-pollution

How often should I wax my car?

The more often a vehicle is waxed, the better. Our recommendation is that if the wax is a Liquid Carnauba, than every 1-2 months is acceptable. If a Polymer Sealant is applied, than every 6 months is a good recommendation.

Where are you located?

3413 Eastern Ave SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49508
We are on the west side of Eastern Ave SE between 32nd and 36th St.

How long does it take to detail a vehicle?

We reserve 8 hours for a  Complete Deluxe Detail appointment, however, this is partially dependent on the vehicle’s condition.

Can you remove paint scratches?

It’s never an exciting moment when you get out of the car and go “Where did this scratch come from?”, or when you hit something or someone hits you and you walk around to see the damage. There is a trick for this repair. If you take your finger nail and rub it across the scratch, and you do not notice a groove that catches it, you are likely dealing with a candidate for removal. Our exterior technicians will utilize a compound and buffing pad to carefully remove the scratch. Price will vary dependent upon the severity.

How does your pickup and delivery service work?

We are able to accept any version of credit card, check or cash either on-the-spot here at Crystal Clean, or at a location away from our facility. A copy of the receipt can be sent via e-mail, text message, or by postage.

Should I pay before, or after the service has been completed?

Also – because we perform a full inspection report with estimated cost for cosmetic repair, the payment at the end may be differ due to the possibility for additional approved services.
